The Galaxy Sound and Light Machine

The Galaxy Sound and Light Machine is the ultimate mind machine that enables the user to achieve highly desirable brain-wave states at the touch of a button. Read on for more information about these brain wave states.

Brain Wave States

A binaural beat occurs when two different frequencies are sounded into a person’s ears through headphones. This pulsing tone, then, "hypnotizes" the brain. The brain is affected by the frequency of the averaged tone.

The left side of our brain is used when we are using logic and processing analytic information. The right side of our brain is in use when we are being creative. Normally people use either their left or right brain, depending on the task they are doing. In this case, however, each half of the brain receives a different sound that comes from a corresponding headphone. The brain can only hear one of the two tones at one time from the earphones, so both halves of the brain work together to average the pitches of the two tones. Then you hear the averaged tone that pulses. Both halves of the brain are up and running! The percentage of brain cells a person is using has just increased.

Princeton Biofeedback researcher, Dr. Fehmi, says that the binaural beats get your whole brain to work, not just one of its hemispheres, so your intelligence improves. You also become less self-conscious and more intuitive. You don’t feel separate from others or feel narrowly focused, but your awareness widens. 1 Another researcher, Hiew, says the binaural beats create a relaxed, meditative, and creative mental state. Binaural beats also aid sleeping. 2

Different pitches induce different brain waves. Brain waves are categorized from fast to slow speeds, called beta, alpha, theta, and delta brain waves. Depending on the frequencies of the binaural beats used, selected states of consciousness can be produced. Brainwaves are closely associated with certain mental states or states of consciousness. People enter magical adventure lands of consciousness by experiencing different brain waves. There is Alpha Land, Beta Country, Theta Experience, Delta Place, and beyond.

  • Alpha Land: Electrical charges of brain waves in Alpha Land become even slower and larger in amplitude causing the brain waves to be more powerful. Alakazam! Magical power from alpha brain waves helps people become creative, integrating many ideas.

The Monroe Center reports people have increased concentration and mental alertness with Alpha frequencies. 3 Kennerly also reports that alpha brain waves improve memory .4

Bulgarian psychiatrist Lozanov reports, "Students learned over five times as much information in less time per day, with greater retention... by using deep relaxation combined with synchronized rhythms in the brain put students in the alpha wave state. In some cases, as much as 30 times as much was learned." 5

  • Alpha-Beta Bridge: The magic at the Alpha-Beta Bridge enables a person to be aware of what’s going around him and in himself at the same time. The brain waves in the Alpha-Beta Bridge slow down as does the heartbeat, respiration, and blood pressure, while the brain becomes more effective.

  • Alpha-Theta Bridge: On this mystic bridge you can observe your emotions and evaluate them. You can also increase your emotional intelligence and solve problems more effectively.

  • Beta Country: Beta brain waves are produced in people’s normal waking state. This is the normal state of consciousness that people spend most of their waking time in.

  • Theta Experience: While a person sleeps, the brain slows down and vibrates in the theta wave, causing emotional healing. Theta brain waves help us let go of painful emotions. Good riddance! A conscious person creating theta brain waves can experience intense creativity, visualization, imagination, and out-of-body experiences.

Dr. Peniston and Dr. Kulkosky, report that alcoholics have greater recovery and retention rates when using increased theta brain waves. In addition, they have a "marked personality transformation including significant increases in qualities such as warmth, stability, conscientiousness, boldness, imaginativeness, and self-control along with decreases in depression and anxiety." 6

Theta brain waves make people eager to learn. That report was from Suzanne Evans Morris, Ph.D., who also said that the use of binaural beats can readily cause behavioral and belief system changes.7 So people are more likely to grow and change when experiencing theta brain waves. Suzanne continued to write that a person producing theta brain waves "experiences expanded intuition and greater access to internal and external knowledge." 8

Thomas Budzynski wrote that "Super Learning" occurs in the theta brain-state, quickening the time to learn a new language. One can also accept suggestions of change and memorize more information with theta brain waves.

McGaugh says that the more the brain vibrates in the theta frequency, the greater one’s memory is. 10 At MIT, Rosenzweig found that people in the theta brain wave state increased their IQ and learning abilities. 11 Those who produce theta brain waves are highly creative have "life-altering" insights, are less rigid and conforming, are very healthy, and have improved relationships with other people as well as greater tolerance and understanding and love of one’s self and of one’s world. 12

According to neurophysiologist Dr. Lynch, Theta brain waves help us form new memories and recall old ones. 13

  • Theta-Delta Bridge: In this brain wave, emotional difficulties heal. Everyone can benefit from this!

  • Delta Land: People adventure to Delta Land every night while they sleep. There are no mental or emotional processes, and no sense of time occurring while the brain vibrates in the delta frequency. The body also recuperates and rebuilds while the brain vibrates in the delta wavelengths. When a person is awake and experiencing Delta brain waves, they can access long-term memories.

There are even more brain states:

  • Gamma and Hyper-Gamma: Gamma brain waves are a higher frequency than Beta waves, and help one to see relationships between different pieces of information. Gamma brain waves are associated with consciousness and "binding" information from all senses to a higher level of awareness of unity." 14 In this extraordinary state, you get it all together!

  • Lambda: Even higher-frequency than Hyper-Gamma, the effects of a Lambda brain wave state include self-awareness, high insight, psychic abilities and out-of-body experiences. 15

  • Epsilon: These brain waves are on the other end of the scale, slower than the deep waves of Delta. Effects also include self-awareness, high insight, psychic abilities, and out-of-body experiences. 16

It is interesting to note that the total opposite ends of the wave spectrum, Lambda, and Epsilon, produce similar experiences. 17 It is as if they create a circle or a spiral. Hutchinson in Megabrain Powers says, "New scientists monitor brains … rare individuals who are able to enter peak domains at will. Peak states are linked to brain activity. Scientists found that by using precise combinations of pulsating sound waves, they could actually produce those peak states by producing those brain patterns in ordinary people."18

Put it all together, and here's what you can get from the MIND'S EYE Sound and Light machine:

  • Tranquility

  • Pain control

  • Creativity

  • Euphoria

  • Excitement

  • Focused attention

  • Relief from stress

  • Enhanced learning abilities

  • Enhanced problem-solving abilities

  • Increased memory

  • Accelerated healing

  • Behavior modification

  • Improvements in mental and emotional health19

Certain uses of sound have a direct effect on:

  • Heart/pulse rates

  • Respiration

  • Brain waves

  • Stress reduction responses 20

Many researchers believe that brain waves are linked to the production of chemicals in our brains, such as beta-endorphins, vasopressin, acetylcholine, catecholamines, and serotonin. Dr. Bauer, one of the foremost experts in the field of electromedicine, elaborates: "By sending out the proper frequency, proper waveform and proper current…we tend to change the configuration of the cell membrane…Cells that are at sub-optimal levels are stimulated to ‘turn on’ and produce what they are supposed to 21. The increase in production of these neurochemicals greatly enhances memory and learning." 22

Various researchers note that acetylcholine is linked to memory. 22 U.C. Berkeley researcher Rosenzweig showed a direct connection between the presence of acetylcholine and intelligence. 24 Certain brain waves are linked with the production of this! So, sound machines can make us smarter!

Sound and brain waves are linked to the production of chemicals such as Endorphins, which improve mental focus. 25 Endorphins also release a sensation of pleasure. Vasopressin increases memory and stimulates the release of endorphins. 26

"Different brain wave frequencies trigger the production of different brain chemicals. 27 For example, alpha frequencies boost serotonin that eases pain, while catecholamines, produced by theta frequencies, are vital for memory and learning," wrote Dr. Patterson.  28 "The brain’s internal communication system, its language if you like, is based on frequency," 29 she continued.

Dr. Giampapa, of the Longevity Institute International, says that alpha, delta, and theta brain waves "dramatically affect the production of three most important hormones in relationship to increased longevity and well being: cortisol, DHEA, and melatonin." DHEA increases one’s resistance to disease. DHEA buffers against cortisol that we produce in response to stress. Cortisol increases the body’s aging process. 30

In a before-and-after-study of people using headphones and listening to sounds that create specific brain waves, there was a 68 percent increase on DHEA in three days.31 A study in the New England Journal of Medicine tells us, "An increase of DHEA in blood levels corresponded with a 48% reduction in mortality due to cardiovascular disease and a 36% reduction in mortality for any reason."32 DHEA helps us live longer. Cortisol levels in the blood were down by an average 46%, (with an increase of certain brain waves) with positive changes in 68% of the people. (Cortisol speeds up the body’s aging mechanisms.) Keeping cortisol levels low helps us remain youthful.33

Theta brain frequencies are linked to the production of melatonin, which helps us sleep. Theta brain waves increase melatonin levels on average 98%. 34 As people age, they fail to get enough sleep. The problem with getting less sleep is that the body needs sleep to regenerate and rebuild. Melatonin helps the body regenerate and rebuild.

Slowing of brain waves pushes the brain to reorganize itself at higher, more complex levels of functioning," (predicted by Prigogine, 1977 Nobel Prize Winner). 35 With audio stimulus, the brain is pushed to reorganize, creating more neural pathways and increased communication between the right and left halves of the brain. 36 Each time the brain reorganizes, there are positive changes in learning ability, creativity, mental clarity, intelligence, intuition, and mental and emotional health. Another benefit is that you can combine information that previously seemed unrelated. 37
